Fair Expo Exit off of I-5
The Winter Rod and Speed Show presented by Burgerville returns to the Linn County Fair and Expo Center in Albany, Jan 22-23. Over 100 of the finest hot rods, custom show cars, race cars and trucks in the Northwest will be on display. In addition, there will be a scale auto (model car) contest and the pinstriping expo returns after a two year break.
This year, Drag Racing Hall of Fame artist Kenny Youngblood returns from Las Vegas and will create custom posters to show patrons free of charge. These are collector's items for any motorhead. Youngblood has been named one of the top 100 most influencial people by Hot Rod magazine. More recently, Kenny was named Grand Marshall of the NHRA Toyota Nationals.
Also featured is the World's Fastes Ford Vic, a nitro burning fuel alterd that has run 5.50's in the quartermile. The car is driven by Troy Owens of Albany.
This is a family friendly event. For the kids, the first 100 get a free Hot Wheel car and Mango the Parrot will be there too. The Oregon Ducks NASCAR simulator will also be at the show.
This event helps the Children's Cancer Association. In addition, there is a giant food drive for the Linn-Benton County Food Share. Patrons that bring a can of food recieves $3.00 off the regular $8.00 admission fee. Parking is free.
